The faculty of Architecture at the German Jordanian University has launched the first module within Road Safety Center of Excellence in cooperation with Hekmat Road Safety and the Greater Amman Municipality GAM, Road Safety Audit Workshop Level I.

 

The workshop has started on 3 August 2008 and will last until 14 August 2008. It is launched at the Talal Abu Ghazaleh College of Business at the German Jordanian University with participants from the GAM and the Municipality of Public Works and Housing in addition to other governmental bodies incorporating the Police Department and the Ministry of Transport. It is aimed at creating great awareness and guiding solutions to prevent and decrease danger on the roads.

This course is designed to introduce participants to the importance of proactive and reactive monitoring procedures, and is suitable for people with responsibility for these areas – Including line managers, supervisors and safety representatives. It also covers both Local and international Road Safety procedures and standards. For this purpose, the Faculty of Architecture has summoned two instructors from Germany,

Within the mission of the university; linking theory with practice, it is also aimed at moving from theory towards coming up with real solutions and recommendations to studied and surveyed black spots in Amman in order to be ready for next phases of implementation within the cooperation agreement signed between the German Jordanian University and both GAM and Hekmat for Road Safety.
