The Department of Social Work at the School of Applied Humanities and Languages at the German Jordanian University hosted an international conference entitled “Leadership and Advocacy: Competence Development for Social and Health Professions” in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Neubrandenburg University, ALBalqa’ University, Magdeburg-Stendal University and AlNajah National University.

The conference program included project presentations representing the participating universities and presenting draft training manuals and discussions on the skills and competencies gained which in return contribute to the advancement of social and health professions.

As a part of hosting the conference, field visits to prominent institutions such as Caritas and the Institute for Family Health (IFH) were conducted, introducing participants to their missions, duties and role in Jordan’s social and health sectors.
