The German Jordanian University (GJU) has introduced Joint PhD program DAF (German as a Foreign Language) in the School of applied Humanities and Languages (SAHL) with the University and Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg for the first semester 2022/2023.

The President of GJU, Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-halhouli, indicated that the program was recently approved by the Higher Education Council - the first joint doctoral program at the university and the first in Jordan and the region. Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the program aims to fill the severe shortage of Ph.D. holders in this specialty in public and private universities in Jordan, especially since there is a demand in the labor market for this specialty.

He added that the program also seeks to fill the acute shortage at the regional by opening the way for students from Arab countries to enroll in the program, noting that the students will spend half of the study period in Jordan and the other half in Germany, and it will be supervised by specialized professors from both universities.

On the other hand, the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the German Jordanian University announced the call for applications for the Joint Ph.D. program.
