Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub
Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub is the Dean of the School of Applied Medical Sciences and an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering at the German Jordanian University (GJU). He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente, the Netherlands, and has over 20 years of experience in academia, industry, scientific research, and international project management.
His research focuses on sustainable energy technologies, biomass gasification, catalytic processes, natural mineral catalysts, and environmental applications. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals and contributed to numerous scientific conferences and collaborative research projects.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Abu El-Rub has held several leadership positions, including Director of the Center for E-Learning and Academic Performance Improvement, Vice Dean, and Acting Department Head. He has contributed to academic program development, international accreditation, university-industry collaboration, and the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into higher education.
He has led and participated in internationally funded projects supported by organizations including GIZ, DAAD, and Erasmus+, focusing on applied research, education, employability, and institutional capacity building.
Beyond his academic responsibilities, he is actively engaged in professional engineering organizations, academic quality assurance, and higher education development. His current interests include advancing interdisciplinary education, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting innovation and sustainable development in higher education.
