The German Jordanian University proudly announces that its IEEE Student Branch has been awarded the 2025 IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions granted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to student branches worldwide.

This distinguished award is presented annually by the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) – Student Activities Committee (SAC) to student branches that demonstrate outstanding performance, impactful activities, strong governance, and sustained engagement with their student communities.

This achievement places the IEEE Student Branch at the German Jordanian University among the

top-performing IEEE student branches in IEEE Region 8, which spans Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, reflecting the branch’s excellence during the 2024 activity year.

The branch comprises more than 150 students from the German Jordanian University and oversees 12 active IEEE technical societies, covering a wide range of engineering and technology disciplines. The branch operates under the supervision of Dr. Hisham Al-Moaqet, IEEE GJU Student Branch Counselor.

During the term Chaired by student Karmel Qawasmi, with student Adnan Kanaan serving as Vice Chair, the branch attributed this recognition to the continued efforts and active participation of its student members, demonstrating their ability to represent the German Jordanian University at both local and international levels.

The German Jordanian University congratulates the IEEE Student Branch, its students, and its faculty supervision on this notable international achievement, which further underscores the university’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and student leadership on a regional and global scale.
