The Department of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering from The School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a specialized lecture titled “Applications of Quality and Regulatory Affairs,” delivered by Ms. Abeer Awad, General Manager of Siwar Quality Regulatory Technical Consultation, in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Albadarin, Head of the Department, and Dr. Nafisah Al-Rifai.
The lecture focused on the practical aspects of regulatory compliance and quality systems, highlighting how these frameworks are implemented in industrial environments, along with associated operational challenges and regulatory requirements. It also addressed industry expectations of graduates and the gap between academic education and labor market needs.
In addition, the session explored career pathways in quality and regulatory affairs, outlining key technical and soft skills required in the field, such as understanding regulatory frameworks, managing quality systems, risk analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. These concepts were supported by practical examples and case studies that bridged theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
The lecture witnessed strong engagement from students, reflected in analytical discussions based on real regulatory case scenarios. This interaction demonstrated critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of quality assurance and compliance concepts.
This event aligns with the department’s approach of systematically integrating industrial expertise into the educational process, thereby enhancing students’ readiness for the job market and ensuring closer alignment between academic programs and rapidly evolving professional requirements.
