Under the patronage of H.R.H Princess Dana Firas, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage and president of the Association of the World Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS Jordan), on Saturday 12 November attended a workshop titled:” Digitalization of Cultural Heritage.” organized by the German Jordanian University in cooperation with Technische Hochschule Brandenburg (THB) in participation of a number of researchers and experts form German and Arabic universities sponsored by “Taziz“ program funded by the German Authority for Cultural Exchange. 

The symposium that was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Fares Braizat, Chairman of Board of Commissioners of PDTRA and President of the German Jordanian University and Director General of the Jordan Museum Ihab Amareen aims to spread awareness of the Jordanian archaeological and cultural heritage and technological techniques in the field of digitalization of cultural heritage and increasing the academic cooperation between Jordan, Germany, Iraq, Lebanon and Sudan.

During the symposium, a number of case studies were presented covering the digitization of cultural heritage in Petra and Museum of Jordan, the digitization of heritage through 3D Virtual Tours, and the transfer of Arab Cultural Legacy to Metaverse platforms as part of the fourth technological revolution.
