As part of the German Jordanian University (GJU)'s commitment to strengthening students' awareness of national issues and promoting the values of citizenship and belonging, the Military Sciences Office organized a field visit for a delegation of students enrolled in the Military Sciences course to the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS) in Jandaweel. The visit, which included 40 students, aimed to introduce them to the Commission's mission, role, and the national services it provides to disabled military personnel and their families.
During the visit, the student delegation attended an introductory presentation highlighting the Commission's establishment, mission, objectives, target beneficiaries, as well as its key programs and achievements in the fields of rehabilitation, care, and support. The students also learned about several inspiring success stories reflecting the Commission's efforts to empower disabled soldiers, including their participation in international competitions and sporting events for wounded and disabled military personnel, where they achieved distinguished results.
The visit also included a tour of the Commission's facilities, during which the students gained insight into the work of its various departments and their role in providing rehabilitation and care services for disabled military personnel while supporting their families. They were also introduced to real-life examples demonstrating the Commission's efforts to reintegrate beneficiaries into society and enhance their active participation.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two sides exchanged commemorative shields. The students expressed their appreciation to the Commission's leadership and staff for their warm hospitality, commending the Commission's significant national and humanitarian role in serving disabled military personnel and providing them with continuous care and support.
This visit comes as part of GJU's ongoing efforts to strengthen the practical component of the Military Sciences course, connect students with national institutions, and familiarize them with their roles and community missions. It also contributes to fostering a generation that is aware of its responsibilities toward the nation and society and appreciative of the sacrifices made by members of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army.
