Amman, October 2026 – A new academic year has begun for the THWS Campus GATE programmes at the German Jordanian University (GJU). The fourth cohort of Hydrogen Technology Engineering and the second cohort of Advanced Materials Engineering have started their transnational studies, marking another milestone in the cooperation between GJU and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS).
The Kick-Off-event for the new academic year brought together new and returning students and representatives of both universities. A particular highlight was the online participation of students from the first Hydrogen Technology Engineering cohort, who recently arrived in Germany. Sharing their first impressions of studying at THWS and living in Germany, they offered valuable insights into the next stage of the international study experience.
Another reason to celebrate: Three Campus GATE students – Rashed Almigdadi, Omar Alhaj Najeeb, and Maya Al Shammari – have successfully achieved C1 proficiency in German, demonstrating their dedication and excellent preparation for studying in Germany.
Both programmes prepare students for careers in future-oriented engineering fields. Hydrogen technology remains central to industrial transformation, with Germany planning further investment to accelerate its adoption, as recently reported by tagesschau.de.
Through their combination of academic studies at GJU and THWS, practical learning, and intercultural experience, the Campus GATE programmes offer students the opportunity to earn a German bachelor's degree while preparing for international careers.
