As part of his ongoing meetings with the university’s Schools, University President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli met with members of the School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) in a gathering that reflects the university’s approach of fostering direct communication and strengthening partnerships among all components of the university community, while reviewing the School’s latest academic and research developments.
During the meeting, Prof. Al-Halhouli affirmed that the university is moving steadily toward establishing a modern academic model that integrates quality education, scientific research, and innovation. He highlighted the university’s key strategic projects in institutional development, academic modernization, and digital transformation, all of which enhance its competitiveness at both the local and international levels.
He also pointed to the pivotal role played by the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH) and the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) in supporting the research environment, stimulating applied and entrepreneurial projects, and creating new opportunities for faculty members and students to transform research ideas into projects with practical and economic impact, in alignment with development priorities and labor market needs.
Furthermore, Prof. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of advancing academic programs and linking them to modern technologies and future-oriented disciplines, thereby contributing to the preparation of highly qualified graduates equipped with the scientific and practical skills needed to keep pace with the rapid changes in the healthcare and technology sectors.
For his part, Dean of SAMS Dr. Ziad Abu Al-Rub reviewed the key features of the School’s future plan, which focuses on developing academic programs, enhancing scientific research, and expanding into modern health technology fields, in addition to building academic and research partnerships with local and international institutions. These efforts aim to improve the quality of the School’s outcomes and enhance graduates’ readiness to compete and excel in the labor market.
