The German Energy Academy in Jordan (GEA) held a specialized workshop titled “Market Study Results and Curriculum Development” at the German Jordanian University (GJU), with the participation of  The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Academy’s partners, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and energy sector experts in Jordan. The workshop aimed to present the outcomes of the market study and discuss ways to develop training programs in alignment with labor market needs.

The workshop covered several key topics, including the accreditation mechanisms of the Academy’s programs, as well as planning for upcoming training courses and their specializations to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with best practices in the field.

Prof. Aiman Al-Batayneh, Project Director at the university, emphasized the importance of the workshop in identifying priority training courses at both the local and national levels, in line with sector demands and in support of building a well-qualified workforce.

For his part, Eng. Ghaith Bani Abdulrahman, Energy Advisor at GIZ, presented the anticipated labor market needs in the energy sector over the coming years in collaboration with the Academy’s partners, as a preliminary step toward developing curricula that align with both market demands and partner requirements.

On the sidelines of the workshop, certificates were awarded to graduates of the Energy Efficiency and Heat Pump Technology training courses, with the participation of the training team from GJU and Al Hussein Technical University (HTU).
