Nexus Nature, one of the companies incubated at the German Jordanian University (GJU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Sadeem, a leading company in flood monitoring systems and smart and sustainable city applications. The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation, integrate technological solutions, and develop innovative applications serving Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the region.
The company works to transform research outputs into practical solutions in weather monitoring and smart agriculture by developing affordable systems that use sensors and digital technologies to monitor weather, soil, and environmental conditions, while providing farmers with accurate recommendations. These solutions contribute to improving water-use efficiency and agricultural productivity while remaining affordable for farmers. The company was initially launched through GJU’s Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office, before moving to the Technology, Research and Innovation Park.
The MoU opens new avenues for cooperation between the two sides in developing and integrating technological solutions for flood monitoring, environmental monitoring, and smart and sustainable cities. It also includes the use of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence technologies in monitoring, early warning systems, and smart agriculture, as well as the development and implementation of joint projects in Jordan and the region and the exploration of opportunities to cooperate on regional and international projects and tenders. The MoU was signed by the two companies’ Chief Executive Officers, Dr. Qasem Abdelal and Dr. Mustafa Mousa.
During his visit to the GJU pavilion, Dr. Al-Qatamin was briefed on the University’s experience in leveraging applied education, research, and innovation to keep pace with technological developments, as well as its key projects in artificial intelligence, robotics, smart systems, and entrepreneurship. He also viewed a number of projects developed by the University’s innovation, research, and technology entities, and praised GJU’s efforts to empower students and researchers and transform knowledge and emerging technologies into practical solutions that strengthen youth capabilities and respond to the demands of the digital economy.
GJU’s participation in LEAP 2026 reflects its commitment to expanding partnerships with institutions and technology companies at regional and international levels and strengthening its presence on global innovation platforms, contributing to the transformation of education and research outputs into technology solutions with tangible impact.
