Visual Training and Rehabilitation Center

The Visual Training and Rehabilitation Center was established at the university to help people with visual challenges perform their daily tasks better, qualify them to continue their lives safely and more easily, and strengthen their integration with others, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being; Goal 4: Quality Education; Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities; Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals).

The center works through the following pillars:

Pillar One: Medical Assistance and the Rehabilitation and Training of People with Low Vision
This involves conducting a visual assessment and developing a suitable plan to help them by identifying appropriate visual aids, and enrolling them in a rehabilitation and training program through which the patient learns to use the visual aids and cope with daily life. This enables them to live a better life, under the supervision of a qualified technical team.

Pillar Two: Training Programs for the Qualification and Training of Vision Specialists
These programs enable specialists to carry out their duties through training in the skills and competencies that qualify them for this task, in accordance with the highest educational and professional standards.

Pillar Three: Awareness and Guidance
The center carries out interactive activities and holds workshops to help people with visual challenges and their families by providing scientific awareness and training content. This enables them to improve their visual care, empowers their families and those who deal with them to provide care in line with scientific and health standards, and helps in creating inclusive education for them.

Pillar Four: Consultations
The Visual Training and Rehabilitation Center provides technical and scientific consultations to institutions, bodies, associations, and individuals related to the center’s work and objectives. These focus on creating infrastructure and construction services in public and private spaces that achieve public safety and a better life for people with visual challenges, such as municipalities, schools, and centers, among others.

We at the center believe that genuine partnerships must be established with public, private, and international institutions and bodies, so that the center can fulfill its mission in line with the sustainability goals, out of a sense of collective responsibility, and to help people with visual challenges at the local, regional, and global levels.

I am very happy to work at the center as part of an outstanding team, believing, as we all do, that humanitarian work lets you feel happiness while fulfilling your duty toward people with visual challenges, their families, and human communities.
