Upload the certificate to MyGJU

Students are requested to upload a colour scan of all language certificates B1 and higher acquired at the GJU and during their "German Year" to MyGJU. The information on MyGJU is a reference for your "German Year", scholarship awards and for your graduation.

How long is the certificate valid

When registering for your "German Year", you must present a language certificate of at least B1 level that is not older than 12 months (Date of issue. The date of the last acquired certificate part counts.)

If the period of validity has passed at the time of registration for the "German Year", then you can alternatively present a confirmation (confirmation of attendance) of a completed language course at B1.2 level at least. We accept confirmations from the Goethe-Institut, from institutions that are ÖSD-certified and from providers who teach according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The German VI course at GJU also counts as a refresher course.

What certificate do students need to graduate from GJU?

To graduate from the GJU, students must demonstrate at least a B1 level of proficiency through a certificate recognized by the GJU at that time.
