EDU-SYRIA

EDU-SYRIA, is a program funded by the European Union Regional Trust Fund (Madad) and managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU), is opening a Call for Applications for a new cohort of the Entrepreneurship Training & Support Program (ETSP). 

This is a fully funded, high-impact business incubator and accelerator designed to provide a comprehensive support ecosystem. Managed in strategic partnership with the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), this program focuses on transitioning minimum viable products (MVPs) and early-stage concepts into scalable, market-ready ventures.

 

Target Demographics & Eligibility 

We are seeking founders from across Jordan within the following categories:

  • Jordanian Nationals: Registered beneficiaries of Aid Funds.

  • Syrian Refugees: Currently residing in Jordan.

  • Founder Profile: Individuals or teams.

 

  • Ventures: Both Pre-seed (ideation) and Seed-stage (existing SMEs seeking expansion).

Industries:

The program is sector-agnostic but prioritizes high-growth industries including:

  • Manufacturing & Production: (Food processing, cosmetics, fertilizers, and others).

  • Engineering & Energy: With access to the Deanship's Innovation Lab for prototyping.

  • Technology: Information Technology (IT), Telecommunications, Fintech, and Marketing.

 

  • Vital Sectors: Agriculture, Education, Healthcare, Tourism & Hospitality, Textiles, and Handicrafts.

The Incubation Roadmap: From Ideation to Market Entry

The ETSP utilizes a staged-gate methodology to ensure comprehensive support at every stage:

  1. Application & Pre-selection: Online submission of applications, followed by a specialized committee selecting 120 candidates (individuals or teams).

  1. The Bootcamp: Hands-on workshops focusing on team building, Business Model Canvas (BMC) development, pitching techniques, and more.

  1. Pitching Day: A competitive evaluation to select the Top 10 projects for the final residency.

  1. Incubation & Business Acceleration: Operating within the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), with access to mentorship services, and training sessions from certified experts and final product/service development.

 

  1. Grant: Receipt of an equity-free grant to fund startups’ operations to initiate and scale up.
